MONUMENTS
An outdoor stilt-dance phenomenon, MONUMENTS was created in special partnership with renowned architecture firm Studio Gang Chicago, Kristina Isabelle Dance, and writer Morgan McNaught to reinterpret civic spaces through a lens that is both epic and personal. With an original score that is equal parts ancient, organic and industrial, and audience-interactive poetry, a dynamic flock of technicolor collossi explore the deep human connection to place through a celebration of impermanence, remembrance and change.
MONUMENTS was presented in 2018 by Chicago’s Night Out in the Parks and Pivot Arts with free performances at Sherman Park, Senn Park, Burnside Park, Pulaski Park, and Walsh Park.
Directed by Dana Murphy and Gabriel Thom Pasculli with choreography by Kristina Isabelle, original text by Morgan McNaught, Stage Buoy design by Studio Gang Chicago, costume design by Myron Elliott-Cisneros, and music composition by Cooper Forsman.
